2) View jobs posted
by companies online (Companies are able to post jobs for free) as well
as research the opportunities and companies. Post a resume that can
be viewed by these companies. View relocation resources to help you
in your move. Read about benefits common in the civilian world. Soon,
you will be able to chat with guest speakers, network with other veterans.
And, of course, all of this is free for you to use:

site is owned and operated by veterans for veterans. It is not just
for senior military officers. It is for ALL personnel who at one time

Their stated vision includes the goal of providing as many job opportunities
as possible for veterans and transitioning military personnel. They
offer several excellent articles on job search related subjects, and
a job bank:

offers "How to..." directions about many specific job search
goals. They offer information and resources about federal jobs for
US veterans, including Post Office jobs. It doesn’t, however,
accept resumes or applications for exams or jobs:

experiences that only the military provides:

company says they are dedicated to reaching all discharging military
professionals and veterans, their spouses and dependants, without the

Employment and Reemployment Rights Act (USERRA) protects service members'

National Guard, and prohibits employer discrimination based on military
service or obligation. The U.S. Department of Labor’s (DOL) Veterans’ Employment
and Training Service (VETS) administers USERRA. 10) The State of
California offers resources specific to vets employment. The EDD takes
